An old friend of mine and went diving in a clouded lake with my camera. I was hoping for clarity, but during post-processing I noticed every image was chaotic and diffused. I left the editing process for a while, discouraged, but later came back to this.

Cyanobacteria!Blue waves produced by bioluminescent phytoplankton: Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives, Florida Everglades, and Lakshadweep Islands off India.
Last year when I studied in Catalina, I was able to witness the amazing bioluminescence of its water’s phytoplankton. My group had swum out to sea at night and then turned off our lights. We dipped our heads below the water and “played” with the phytoplankton, then swam back to shore with the glittering lights billowing with our movements. It was a breathtakingly beautiful experience.
So I was going to reblog this and talk about my 7th grade Catalina story and then I saw this ^^ Bitch beat me to it. ha

Brazilian artist Regina Silveira creates incredible illusions that play with our senses and messes with our minds. In Lodz, Polland, she created an installation called Abyssal (Depth) where she incorporated the gallery’s architecture, particularly its windows, to show a never-ending abyss one could actually walk on.
